Listen: Ave Maria
In recent years, perhaps because part of her heart still resides in Italy, she has deepened the study of arias and songs of the Italian folk tradition. In the past these songs were a part of everyday life, such as the “Forbidden Music”, that her great-grandfather used to woo her great-grandmother! Reconnecting with her native traditions in this way makes her feel closer to her roots.
Listen: Nella Fantasia
Lat not least, as it’s said, having chosen to make her home in the United States for the last several years, she also has begun to sing songs from the rich trove of American folk songs and musicals. This is a heartfelt tribute to her new home!
